I forgot to add this one of my Husband! I know a lot of you see it in a locked album. And many have requested to see this particular photo. Here it is! This was taken in a town Called Fort Davis, Texas. Andy and I try to go every year to meet up with friends. It is a standing tradition for 10 years now!

A while back I went with another photographer in chase of something different. We went all over the place, and it wasn't planned very well. We ended up on a back road somewhere between Anthony and Canuillo. We screeched to a halt near a cotton field just as the sun was setting. By the time I got into position and my Camera gear settings the way I wanted them, the sun was almost gone! BOOO. Oh well. I was able to get this shot though. One day not too long from now I will plan on getting "THE" shot I am looking for. Until then, enjoy! This is for you Heather!!! Muah!

Here is a photo I took recently at the Rio Grande Vally Ranch. These are roping steers taken at dusk hand held. We had just finished riding our horses and were on our way to the trailer when I said, "STOPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!! I NEED THAT SHOT!" Next time, I better take my tripod. :)

I found this image while cleaning out my heard drive. These are 2 of my lovely kids on a tractor somewhere in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

As I was cleaning out my computer of pictures, I came across this wonderful sunflower that I took while on a trip to New Mexico. It was cool wet late summer morning. It had just stopped raining when I took this shot. I figured I would post it to remind us that the cold is just temporary! I can't wait until it is warm again. That is one of the best things about living in the southwest. It doesn't stay cold for too long!

This puppy needs a home!

This is Cory. His owners did not know how to take care of him. They were mean to him and kicked him so hard that he dislocated his hip bone out of its socket. Surgery was performed to relocate his bone, other hair line fractures where also found in his pelvis area.

He is staying at our house for the time being. Cory is a very loving dog, and if I could I would keep him. But I am a house with many animals, and just can have him. He would make a great Christmas gift for a wonderful family! Cory gets along with my other dogs and just LOVES my kids. He is always trying to sneak in a few extra kisses from me when I sit in a chair. He is still very young, and loves to please. If you are interested please call Pet Haven. He needs a wonderful family.

I know it has been a long while since I have posted anything. Motherhood has proven very challenging with 3! But I wouldn't change a thing and love doing it. I do, however want to share my family with you!

I just couldn’t resist posting this photo. This cute boy was quite the handful I assure you! Just look at his face!

I am SURE you all walked away thinking I didn’t get ANYTHING with him running off all the time. Have no fear! I am SURE you are going to like what is hiding in your album! But I thought I would throw in this cute photo with his tongue sticking out. That should leave you guessing what the others look like right??? HA HA I guess you will find out soon!

The Baby James Project

I am sure you are all wondering what the banner at the bottom of my website is about. Well let me tell you! A fellow photographer has started the project after loosing her sweet baby James. Sadly, still birth is more common than you think. However, no one wants to talk about it. In fact you hear more about SIDS than you do still birth. The fact is, more babies die each year from still birth than SIDS!

Blair has teamed up with photographers around the country to spread the word. Why photographers? Because a lot of photographers, including myself, come into contact with pregnant women for maternity photo sessions. If it can help just ONE baby, then all this work will be worth it.

It sure has been a while!

It has been a while since I last updated my blog. For that I apologize. I figured you all might need an explanation for that. In December I found out that I am expecting my third child! Needless to say my husband and I were thrilled, as well as surprised!

In my mind, I had planned to go about my buisness the same way since I had no morning sickness…something I had with both of my girls. However, do to unexpected complications, I was ordered to be on moderate bed rest.

I am currently only taking limited appointments right now. Also, I will no longer be doing weddings until next year.

My computer crashed!

Well my computer crashed just before Christmas folks! What luck! Thankfully, I have a great system for saving things, so no ones pictures were lost in the process. I apologize for the long delay. Right now I am working on my laptop. I hope to be up and running as soon as possible. However, because of this, as well as the Christmas holidays, I am now offically backed up. I will be contacting each of you as I go to let you know the status of your pictures, orders, etc.

Thank you everone for making this year a great success! I hope next year will be even better! I will close my studio on December 22nd for the Christmas Holidays. I am anxiously awaiting spending time with my family and friends...not to mention baking!
I will re-open for buisness on January 12th. However, I am already booking clients. So far my next avail. appointments are the 1st part of Febuary!
I hope everyone has a safe christmas break and filled with lots of love ans wishes for the New Year!

I have known this family for about 9 years. We all used to live in San Antonio together. Somehow as luck would have it, we all got jobs back here in El Paso within months of each other. They are such a warm loving family and I love them to bits! So I thought I would share one picture that I took of them.

I am putting this on my blog because so many of our young women today feel insecure about their looks when comparing them to what they see on ads, TV, and the movies. While everyone knows they are retouched and "airbrushed", it is good to see in real life how extreme it goes.

We asked a high-end fashion photographer to make her look as beautiful as possible for a cover/billboard (normal advertising request). I asked the retoucher to save his progress in files/layers, and that's what was used to create the animation. It's 100% real.
Retouching took 4 full days. Make-up, lighting, and shooting took about 4 to 5 hours

I had the chance to photograph this amazing group of guys this past weekend. We only had 15 minutes from start to finish. Fortunately, these guys did not mess around! For the time we had, we were able to get a lot in.

These guys rock! Literally! I had a chance to hear them play a few nights ago. Not only do they have a cool style, they have a cool sound. I wouldn’t know how to describe it other than a Latin POP/ROCK type feel.

This band just came from playing a concert in Chihuahua, Mexico. They have a concert planned here in El Paso on November 3, 2006, then it is off to Las Vegas!

I am in shock!

This morning I got to talk with Jerry Goffe, a National Geographic Photographer. I met him several weeks ago while attending one of his workshops.
He wants me to enter several of my photos in a Photography Contest held in November. Better yet, he has encouraged me to enter them in the Professional Categories! YAY!
He will be there during that week as he will be holding several high end photography workshops. He also mentioned that if I call him (Got his phone number) when it came closer to time he would let me hang around with him during his workshops without a fee.

I recently took a trip to Northern New Mexico to visit a long time friend. It was grand. We really had a nice time despite the fact that it rained about 90% of the time. Seems to be just my luck recently! I have now posted a few of them.

Wedding Favors

Planning a wedding takes a lot of thought and preparation. Every detail is meticulously planned. On top of flowers, cakes, and the PERFECT dress, there are favors for the guests.

Which ones should we buy? Does it go with our theme?

These are questions I am sure every bride is asking at some point. There are many places on the internet that offer so many unique favors, and it is hard to choose when you like so many. Can you imagine the world before the internet??

I am back!

WOW is all I can say about my trip! I left at 4 in the morning and took a very long drive to a secret place in New Mexico. (I have to keep some things a secret right???) It RAINED the whole ride there. I was a bit dissapointed at first, but kept my chin up anyways. I was determined to meet Jerry Goffe, a well published National Geographic photographer. He was quite funny and the experience was wonderful. I learned a lot that is for sure. We DID have some time to go out and shoot a few photographs. But not as much as I would like to have had. The mosquito's were AWEFUL! I put on the HEAVY duty Off bug spray. But even with that on, they were buzzing around my ears, landing on my face, in my hair, on my hands and legs, landing on my lens so I could not take a picture, and everything! And not only was I fighting the bugs, but the rain as well! And by mid afternoon poored so hard we just packed up and drove the long ride home.

I was dissapointed that I did not bring more images. But I had such an awesome time that I will be going back as soon as I can. There was just too much NOT to photograph! One day was not enough time. And I will be taking the lessons I learned with me and bring back a LOT more images. We have made the decision to camp out near this place for a few days before fall comes. I will also be going back in November for a big photographic event! You don't want to miss that!

As mentioned in a previous post, I told you that a very exciting project is on its way. Well so am I! Tonight I will be leaving to a secluded place in New Mexico to meet up with a seasoned National Geographic Photographer! It is still a big surprise as to WHAT I will be bringing to you folks. All I can say is that I hope to bring back a bit of New Mexico back with me to share...that is IF it does not rain on us.
